Amsterdam has captivating nightlife. You can visit the famous, or infamous, Red Light District, or you can enjoy some music at the famous Concertgebouw. You could also dance the night away to some live music, but If, like me, you appreciate culture and museums, then you’ll be happy to know that many museums and galleries, such as the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and Anne Frank House, stay open until 10-11 pm, especially on weekends.
The Moco Museum
Located on Amsterdam Museum Square the Moco Museumis open daily; Sunday – Thursday 10:00 – 19:00 hours, and onFridays and Saturdays between 10:00 – 21:00 hours. It also offers live music and a Cocktail Experience at the House of Bols, the world’s oldest distillery.
The Moco Museum offers a first-rate collection of modern and contemporary art by artists such as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Yayoi Kusama. This is no doubt in line with its mission to make art available to younger and broader audiences.
However, I highly recommend Moco for its Banksy exhibits. Banksy is an anonymous graffiti street artist from Britain and his original works are very rare. To see his graffiti in gilded frames in such ornate surroundings is to legitimatize the voice of the street. Less known is the fact that Banksy also has several indoor pieces, which are on display at Moco Museum.
Stroll in the city as it lights up
By day Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful cities under the sun but, the magic happens when the sun sets. make sure you take a walk along the cobbled canal streets that are lit with romantic lights. there is nothing like soaking it all up. And if lady luck is smiling at you, you might encounter the Amsterdam Light Festival. They make the city glow up during the darkest nights.
It’s no secret, Amsterdam loves to party. And if you’re a music and dance lover, then you can’t get a better place to dance your night away. We have mega clubs with some of the world’s best DJs rocking the night till the sun comes up. And you can even opt to club hop from Hartje to Melkweg, the list endless.
Go for live music
EDM and Amsterdam are almost synonymous. You’ll get A1 performances from live bands from both well-known acts and upcoming stars. Stop by Paradiso or Melkweg and you can’t miss either rock, reggae, or hip-hop performances going on.
